The first in this year's series of Cambridge Lectures in Islamic Art (CLIA) will take place on Thursday 29 October. Our speaker will be Professor J. M. Rogers (The Nour Foundation; Khalili Professor Emeritus of Islamic Art at SOAS and Honorary Curator of the Nasser D. Khalili Collection of Islamic Art), who will present a paper entitled '"Nothing Succeeds Like Excess": Princely Magnificence and an Ottoman Gift to Nadir Shah Afshar'
